PLNU administration has not yet responded to a letter proposing a potential lawsuit against the university regarding cuts to the athletic department.
Recent cuts to the athletic department were an effort to comply with an investigation by the Office for Civil Rights following a grievance filed against PLNU regarding Title IX compliance.
PLNU students have not stayed silent on the administration’s abrupt decision to cut the softball, golf and men’s track and cross country programs due to Title IX compliance issues. The cuts followed the loss of the softball field used but not owned by PLNU at Sunset Cliffs National Park for 35 years. The administration also announced it will add a women’s golf program.
PLNU’s homecoming week ended on Sunday night of homecoming weekend with an unofficial homecoming event, the third annual PLNU Twilight Milk Mile Classic.
