Assignment was not to file a grievance against PLNU
Recent cuts to the athletic department were an effort to comply with an investigation by the Office for Civil Rights following a grievance filed against PLNU regarding Title IX compliance.
The PLNU administration’s decision to cut four athletic teams last month has sparked a dramatic storm of controversy that has divided our small campus and attracted national attention.
PLNU students have not stayed silent on the administration’s abrupt decision to cut the softball, golf and men’s track and cross country programs due to Title IX compliance issues. The cuts followed the loss of the softball field used but not owned by PLNU at Sunset Cliffs National Park for 35 years. The administration also announced it will add a women’s golf program.
